I selected a Cuisinart Smartstick from the range of hand blender models available and I have listed my selection criteria below.

Before I purchased a hand blender I would often avoid a recipe because it would be a major job if I had to get out the food processor just to wiz up a little dressing or to make my morning smoothie.

It hardly seemed worth it – to get the food processor out and then the clean up afterwards.

Making a smoothie for breakfast is a breeze – the ingredients go straight into the jug and I wiz it up in the jug too. Ease of cleaning – this is the number one this I look for when selecting any kitchen appliance and in particular when reviewing food processors and blenders which are used to mix liquids. There is nothing worse than hard to clean appliances especially when you have been mixing milk-based products such as my breakfast smoothie or a milkshake for the children. Hand blenders in general are easy to clean and the Cuisinart Smartstick is not an exception – cleaning the Cuisinart Smartstick takes only a few seconds.
Ease of use – any kitchen appliance must be easy to use. Our children can confirm that a Cuisinart smart stick or hand blender is easy to use.
Quality – I hate buying junk! Sometimes when you buy kitchen appliances you think that the cheap product will be good enough; however I would suggest you do not adopt this logic when buying a hand blender. If you are anything like me you will be using your hand blender at least once a day so if it stops working you will not be happy – buy worse than that will be explaining to your children why their milkshake blender is in the rubbish!
